Subject Choice Guidelines

Course selection will open for Years 10-12 at 3.30 pm on Tuesday 20 August. Subject selections will close for Years 10-12 at 5.00pm on Sunday 8 September.
Selection into courses is NOT first in first served. You are not guaranteed a place in a course just because you submit your selections before the due date.
Please make your subject selection carefully and in consultation with whaanau and your teachers as you will not be able to change your subject selections once they close, except in very exceptional circumstances.

Year 11 Subject Choice Guidelines
(For Year 10's going into Year 11)
Religious Education and English are compulsory for all students and these are automatically selected on SchoolPoint.
Mathematics is also compulsary and students need to select from one of the two mathematics options available.
• Students then select their remaining four subject choices.
• Students will do a total of 7 subjects.
• Students will be offered the opportunity to gain up to 15 credits in each Level 1 subject.
Year 12 Subject Choice Guidelines
(For Year 11's going into Year 12)
Religious Education and English are compulsory for all students and these are automatically selected on SchoolPoint.
• Students then select their remaining four subject choices.
• Students will do a total of 6 subjects.
Year 13 Subject Choice Guidelines
(For Year 12's going into Year 13)
Religious Education is compulsory for all students and this is automatically selected on SchoolPoint.
• Students then select their remaining five subject choices.
• Students will do a total of 6 subjects.
• Study is not an option this year but this may be negotiated with Mrs Shakeela at a later date.
Year 10 Subject Choice Guidelines
(For Year 9's going into Year 10)
Subject selection will be in Term 4.
All students must study Religious & Social Education, English, Science, Physical Education & Health, a Language and Mathematics.
• Students must choose 3 Technology subjects in order of preference and 3 Art subjects in order of preference. From these choices you will:
• Complete 1 Art and 1 Technology in Terms 1 and 2.
• Complete a different Art and Technology in Terms 3 and 4.
