At Level 3 History aims to critique the contested history of our environment as students explore arguments with perceptions of truth. Students will uncover the often hidden voices of our history here in the Waikato as they investigate aspects of our local history and apply this to an understanding of the historical force of colonisation. Students may investigate such issues as the impact of the Spanish Flu pandemic on Hamilton, cause and consequence of the Waikato War and the attack of Rangioawhia.
