Over the course of the year, students will cultivate their confidence, creativity, and reflective thinking while gaining a comprehensive understanding of theatre. They will refine their performance and presentation skills, applying components of drama to both self-devised and scripted works.

Collaboration will be a central focus, as students learn to work effectively within a group, valuing the diverse perspectives and contributions of their peers. This cooperative approach will not only enhance the quality of their performances but also build essential teamwork skills that are vital in both theatre and beyond.

Students will engage in workshops led by theatre professionals and attend live performances, providing them with valuable real-world insights into the art of theatre. These experiences will not only enhance their practical skills but also prepare them for the year-end written examination, where they will critically analyze and reflect on the theatrical productions they have encountered.

  • Confidence and Presence: Students will build their self-assurance in various performance contexts.
  • Creative and Critical Thinking: Development of innovative problem-solving abilities and reflective analysis.
  • Theatrical Knowledge: A deepened understanding of theatrical practices, history, and theory.
  • Performance and Presentation Skills: Mastery of performance techniques and the ability to present with clarity and impact.
  • Drama Techniques and Conventions: Proficiency in applying drama components to both original and scripted pieces.

  • Analytical Proficiency: Preparation for a final written examination that requires critical analysis of live theatre performances.
