Course Description

This course aims to develop the following life skills:

  •  Self-confidence

  •  Presentation and performance

  • Analysis and critical thinking

  •  Creativity

  • Collaboration and communication

  •  Accountability

Specific Drama skills you will also develop:

  • Practical knowledge of Drama: learning the language and aspects of drama and how to use Techniques, Elements, Conventions and Technologies in performance.

  • To develop ideas in Drama: collaborating and contributing to the creation of performance.

  • To communicate using Drama: using Techniques, Elements and Conventions in performance.

  • To Interpret Drama: thinking about the work of others, understanding play texts and viewing live theatre.

  • To understand Drama in context: exploring other styles and forms of theatre and different dramatic situations.

Throughout the year students will be involved in:

  • A group devised performance

  • A performance from a script

  • A  theatre form performance
