Pre-requisitesThere are no prerequisites for this course, but Year Ten Drama is advised.
Students will have the opportunity to earn up to 15 credits in Level 1 Drama.
This course is designed to enhance students' confidence, reflective thinking, performance, and collaboration skills. Emphasising whanaungatanga, students will build strong, supportive relationships within the class, fostering a sense of community and shared purpose. The principles of manaakitanga will also be central to the course, promoting an environment of care, respect, and mutual support.
Students will gain practical experience by applying key components of drama to both scripted and self-devised performances. Throughout the year, they will engage in workshop sessions with local theatre practitioners, offering valuable industry insights. Additionally, students will attend live theatre performances, learning to critically analyze and reflect on their experiences.
