Course Description

Each student will be offered the opportunity to gain up to 15 credits in Level 1 Health Studies.
This course involves a study of personal well-being through exploring holistic models of health. Students will review effective communication, relationship and decision making skills along with considering Māori and Pacific knowledge bases, values, and practices related to hauora and wellbeing. This course encourages students to develop and understanding that a variety of health-promotion actions are needed at personal, interpersonal, and societal levels to enhance hauora. Through Health Studies ākonga will explore diverse ways to manage change situations that have an impact on wellbeing.
