Course Description

This course aims to extend language skills acquired at Levels 1-6, enabling students to cope in less familiar situations and contexts. Students will also learn to justify and express their own ideas and opinions, and support and challenge those of others in both spoken and written Spanish. Topics may include work and the future, technology, current affairs, film and media, historical events, study of Spanish-speaking countries, etc. Students will continue to develop their communication skills, critical thinking, knowledge of grammar, and the cultural awareness required in today’s connected world.
Pre-requisites
NCEA Level 1. Either 91974 or 91975 (externals) plus 91973 (internal) or at the discretion of Leader of Learning.
Native Spanish speaker wanting to gain NCEA credits, OR Language students in Year 12 or 13, who would have gained NCEA Level 1 in Spanish.

You will be assessed in this course through all or a selection of the standards listed below.
