Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Zoe Fleetwood.

Drama aims to develop students' creativity, collaboration and self management alongside core performance skills. This course will explore the key aspects and terminology of drama and students will learn how they fit within performance. Students are encouraged to think and reflect on their own and the work of others through the creation of performance and viewing live theatre. Students will also explore the perspectives and experiences of others, increasing their cultural awareness, responsiveness and acceptance. In Drama we foster an environment where students' confidence can grow and develop. The nature of the work in Drama is group based. Throughout the term students will develop at least two performances, one devised from stimulus and one scripted text. Students will also have opportunities to explore technological aspects of drama such as set, props, costume and lighting.
