The Visual Arts course at year 10 aims to develop students’ creativity, confidence and critical thinking while also giving students a solid artistic skill set. Units will incorporate practical knowledge of drawing, painting, printmaking, photography and design. While also addressing the habits of mind essential for success in everyday life such as perseverance, reflection and problem solving strategies. Students will look to both contemporary and traditional artists to further their own understanding of how and why art is made, interpreted and valued. Helping them to critically process and understand the visual information all around them.
