Pre-requisitesEntry is open to all Year 13 students with a genuine interest in learning about caring and educating pre-school aged children. Prior study at Level 2 is helpful but not essential.

This course is designed to give students knowledge and understanding of the learning and development of pre-school aged children. Students will study a range of Level 3 Plunket unit standards. This course is a good base for future tertiary study and employment, particularly for those interested in Early Childhood or Primary Teaching, Health Care, Social and Community Services, Babysitting and Nannying. Some of the areas of study include: children’s development and learning, nutrition, health and safety, holistic wellbeing, and creating resources for play.
